1998年紐西蘭人費爾先生 (Phil Tchernegovski) 帶著忐忑心情從南半球的紐西蘭來到北半球的臺灣尋找不知所蹤的心愛兒子。在過程中那種遍尋不著愛子的錐心之痛，老湿卻在臺灣這個異鄉中，老湿被溫暖人們的加油與鼓勵逐漸撫平。而最難能可貴的是，感念在臺灣獲得的善意，在臺灣發生921地震之後，他又再次回到臺灣，以一己之力幫助那些曾經幫助過他的人。一個異國的父親，在最困難的時候，被臺灣人的愛扶起，而當臺灣有難的時侯，他也感念的回報。
